Biography

My name is Omar Durrani and I trained in Ayurvedic massage therapy at an Ayurvedic clinic in the UK. After completing a diploma course in Ayurvedic massage, I gained an apprenticeship within a very successful Ayurvedic practice. During this time I worked alongside an Ayurvedic doctor, carrying out massage treatments on patients suffering from a variety of medical disorders.

Since then, I have spent time in India and Sri-Lanka gaining valuable experience within the field of Ayurveda. During this time I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and expand my skills. I am a fully insured member of the APA (Ayurvedic Practitioners Association) and I am also trained in Deep Tissue Massage.

Ayurvedic Massage

Ayurvedic massage is a soothing, energising and profound form of therapeutic treatment. Originating in India more than five thousand years ago, it is an ancient art of healing that recognises the need to treat individuals on physical, mental and emotional levels in order to attain a state of optimal health. Ayurvedic massage therefore works on many levels to bring about a state of tranquillity and balance within the recipient.

This traditional Indian massage is performed using a range of warm herbal oils that are carefully selected to treat various conditions. After a full body massage, appropriate pressure is applied to specific areas of the body, known as ‘Marma points’. These special points on the body are stimulated in order to release energetic build-ups and also to promote the body’s own natural healing systems. The combination of using specific herbal oils together with the stimulation of the Marma points, results in a truly unique experience that will leave you feeling invigorated and re-energised on all levels.

In order to bring about a state of holistic wellbeing, each treatment is tailored to the particular needs of the recipient. Treatments can be taken either for general relaxation or to treat more specific problems. When applied on a regular basis, Ayurvedic massage can be used to treat the following conditions:

  • Back pain
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Sciatica
  • Muscular tension
  • Joint stiffness
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Low energy levels
  • Poor circulation
